Nathans Christening

I have been pretty bad writing my blog recently so there are lots of things to tell which to me seem like old news now. I MUST try to keep up with my blog! Mind you saying that I am off on my holidays next week so thats another week of not writing woops. Hopefully I will have lots more things to write from my holiday too.

Anyway my little nephew and now Godson was christened recently. For the special event I made this print and framed it for his bedroom. He was extremely well behaved on the day. I know he loves trains so I hope he grows to love his picture!

Easter Cards

I have designed 2 cute Easter cards. I have used fresh spring colours and tried to keep the designs clean and simple. You can buy both of these cards on NOTHS and Folksy or in store at Halo Gift in Whitley Bay. They make me feel like spring is finally here!

Im really pleased that NOTHS chose to feature my "rabbits" card in their Easter email which was sent out at the beginning of this week. It has made a big difference to orders too!

Plus today Poppy Sparkles have featured my "happy easter" card in their blog and Folksy have featured my "rabbits" card in their emailer.

Customisable Mothers Day card

I thought I would design a Mothers Day card that was customisable - something unique to the family and also to Not on the High Street. I used my little button people and created this card:

With this card the customer could create their own family by choosing the amount and sex of the children and what the children call their mum/mummy/mam.
I’m pleased to say it went down well on NOTHS! I hope all mums out there who received it liked it.

Mothers Day cards

I have finally got my Mothers Day cards ready, only a small selection but I think they are all quite different from each others so hopefully they will cover all bases.

First up:
Mum made up out of lots of lovely girlie things; handbags, shoes, wine, tea, cake etc

Next one of my button designs, it features a mum relaxing with a book and reads "Mum you are the best, so today your deserve a rest".

Another button card, this time the buttons are the centre of each flower and the middle flower reads "I love you Mum".

The next card simply reads "I love you Mum', short and sweet.

And finally my favourite, its kind of a mum equation, listing just some of the great qualities of a mum.

My love of Orla Kiely Bags

Years ago when I lived in London I used to go into Libertys and look longingly at Orla Kiely bags. I  promised myself I would buy myself before I left the big smoke but never did....

Then I went to Dublin in 2004 for my Hen Do. There in Browns Department store was a wonderful collection of Orla bags. Since I was there for a special reason I figured it was time for my credit card to treat me. This is the bag I bought...

As you can see its very well worn now. I have used it pretty much every day since I bought it and still love it. Its a perfect everyday bag.

I always hoped I would find one of Orla’s bags that would be suitable for using a night time and this winter she brought out the stunning Holly Bag. Bingo that was the one, I waited until the post Christmas sales and luckily it was reduced by £100 in Fenwick, I bought it on my birthday and used it that night. This is it....

...and I LOVE IT!

To top it off I went food shopping last week at Tescos and bought this little number from there....

I can now say I have an Orla Kiely bag for every eventuality, what a lucky girl I am :)

Getting a card order ready for Gaf

At the weekend I had a nice Valentines card order to get ready for Gaf in Tynemouth. Its a great little shop in the town next to where I live and Im over the moon that they are stocking my cards. All my cards are printed at home which means I have to cut them all out and stick any necessary buttons on to them. I spent saturday afternoon doing this and singing along to the Ministry of Sound 80s electronica CD. Its a good job its a triple CD as I was there a while!

Here are the cards all laid out and ready to be made cutting mat and scalpel in place.

Coloured buttons at the ready!

The buttons have been added to the cards...

A finished and wrapped (apart from the buttons ones which have to be left overnight to dry and stick)

A welcome tea (and cake) break!
